Terms of Service

Builder Town (“Builder Town”, “we”, “us”) is a browser-based pixel co-working town at buildertown.app where makers work on their own projects next to each other. By using Builder Town you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use it.

1. Your account

You can look around as a visitor without an account. To take a desk you sign in with your X (Twitter) account. Your name and @handle come from X and can’t be changed in Builder Town.
You must be at least 16 years old, or the minimum age required in your country to use online services.
You are responsible for what happens under your account. One person, one account. Automated accounts and bots are not allowed.
To keep the town free of bots, some features (for example cheering and the Ship League) are only available to X accounts that are not brand new and show normal activity.
You can delete your account at any time from “Me” → “Delete my account”. This removes your desk, posts, purchases and stats.

2. What you post

You may post your character, your project name, links to your own products, what you are working on and what you shipped. You keep ownership of your content, and you give us permission to show it to other people in Builder Town while your account exists.

You agree not to post or link to:

anything illegal, hateful, harassing, sexual or violent;
malware, phishing, scams or misleading links;
spam, or content made to advertise third parties;
other people’s personal data or content you don’t have the right to share.

We may hide content, remove links, or suspend accounts that break these rules.

3. Purchases

Builder Town is free to use. Optional items (for example character and desk packs, Builder Pro, Founding Builder, a permanent desk, team rooms, corner offices, Maker Insights, celebrations and Ship League entries) are one-time purchases. There are no subscriptions and nothing renews automatically.
Some items last for a fixed time (for example 24 hours or 7 days); the time is shown before you buy. Items marked “forever” stay on your account for as long as your account and Builder Town exist.
Purchases give you a license to use the item inside Builder Town. They have no cash value and can’t be transferred, resold or exchanged for money.
We do not sell advertising or promotional placements to anyone. Buildings and boards in the town are not for rent.
Payments are processed by our reseller and Merchant of Record, Polar, which handles billing, taxes and receipts. Polar’s terms also apply to your payment.

4. Refunds

If something you bought doesn’t work, or you bought it by mistake, email us within 14 days of the purchase at emrahsinekli@gmail.com and we’ll refund you. Time-limited items that have already been fully used may not be refundable. Where the law in your country gives you more rights, those rights apply.

5. The town changes

Builder Town is a living game. We may add, change or remove features, places and items, and parts of the town open as more people join. If we remove something you paid for “forever”, we’ll give you something of equal value or a refund.

6. Availability and liability

We work hard to keep Builder Town running, but it is provided “as is”, without warranties. To the extent allowed by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.

7. Ending

You can stop using Builder Town and delete your account at any time. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms or harm other people or the service.

8. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. When we make important changes we’ll show a notice in the town. Using Builder Town after a change means you accept the new terms.
